When I travel, I like to go to places that have interesting history behind them; Architecture that talks of a certain era, streets where you can endlessly walk to absorb more and more of the place, enchanting natural beauty that elevates your senses.

My visit to Dubai, early this year, was quite the contrary. Dubai is a man-made city grown out of the desert dust. It is full of glam and glitz -skyscrapers touching the heavens above, swanky cars and massive malls. The urban aesthetics of the city combined with the shimmering sands, lend a thousand different shades to its landscape. I tried to photograph some of these shades by finding beauty in the natural and the man-made.
